Wessex Cancer Trust
I am proud to say that I donate any of the permanent cosmetic treatments I offer to the clients of Wessex Cancer Trust.
Many cancer charities will receive donations of Areola treatments, however those who would really prefer eyebrows, eyeliner or scar improvement often won’t have access through their charity. I decided therefore the client should have a choice of the services I offer.
This initially started with the Chandlers Ford centre in the latter part of 2018, with 2019 seeing the service being expanded to include the Hythe Centre also.
Cancer affects 1 out of every 2 people in the UK and this local charity who provide a host of support to their clients.
A client who had her brows completed by me even gave me a mention in a radio interview, that aside this is a great interview that really highlights the excellent support offered by Wessex Cancer Trust. Click the 'on air' image to listen to the interview.
For the clients that are referred to me that aren’t suited to permanent cosmetics, I offer a complimentary session to them to review their skincare routine, makeup bag review and a lesson in how to draw on eyebrows. These have proved to be quite a hit with a centre based pilot taking in place in Chandlers Ford.
Look Good, Feel Better
This year I have I also started to volunteer for an international charity called Look Good Feel Better, at their BMI Sarum Road location. Each 2 hour workshop delivers a 12 step skincare and makeup routine, with a cosmetics bag supplied and filled by some of the worlds largest brands.
Why do both?
Well the Wessex workshops are focused on meeting the needs of people who perhaps are more comfortable outside of a hospital setting and the beauty of working with their existing products and ranges can for some be easier and more accessible.
